Looks a Lot Like Springtime!

March 31, 2012

It’s more like mid to late Spring with how lush the grass and how many tulips are blooming all over town.

The radish have popped, thanks to a great mix of sun and rain this past week.

Same with the spinach (arugula too).

In addition to the green, we’re seeing some really early waves of color, like the flowering crabapples.

My new cherry tree is showing pretties too.

And in recent years, I’ve cut these tulips for bouquets for my grandma’s on Mother’s Day.  Not this year, they’ll be long gone by then.

Spring is also inside as well…tomatoes and basil are up!

Not quite sure what to think of this beautiful, early spring.  Regardless of what it might mean I am enjoying it!

I grew up in South Carolina, and this is what March looks like down there, in a normal year . . . I’m not sure whether to be tickled or horrified that this is Iowa in March 2012 . . .

I know what you mean. I’m just going to go with… we deserve this warm year after some recent brutal winters we’ve had. Crossing my fingers it’s smooth sailing from here out this season.

Fantastic pictures! Do you ever pull the radish seedlings and eat them in your salad?

Life in Green would love to hear from you...
