Garden Flashback (June)

January 22, 2012

Today things are semi-snow covered and kind of cold.  Really not that bad for winter, but winter never really gets that good.

Since winter pretty much stinks, let’s close our eyes and imagine soaking in the rays of a warm June sun.  And then when opening your eyes, see the lush greens of thick freshly, cut grass and gardens full of lettuce, spinach, green onions and plant after plant ready to bear fruit.

I know you really want to reach out and touch that bed of beans, don’t you?

How about a little snack instead?

You remember the glow of the evening sun in June, right?  Amazing.

Flowering chives

And remember how good salads are in June?  Mouth-watering.

How about that floral smell in the air everywhere you go?  Yeah, that’s good stuff.

June is good, huh?

Looking forward to seeing you again in about 4+ months.

love the pictures..especially the bottom one w/ new potatoes and greens 🙂 I can’t wait either 🙂 Been planning what I want to grow this coming year the past couple of days. Last year I read an article in Mother Earth news that got me thinking about planting an heirloom corn..we shelled it yesterday. posted some pictures from it yesterday on our farm blog.

Life in Green would love to hear from you...
